It appears President Trump is slowly delivering on what he had promised before elections.
As per his pre-poll promises, American President Donald Trump is slowly implementing his “America First” trade policy. It aims to give local manufacturers the upper hand to face foreign competition.
During the last week of January, Trump Administration imposed special tariffs (under Section 201) on imported solar panels and washing machines. This step is expected to impact South Korean and Chinese companies that sell washing machines in the US at lower rates than those made in the US. Cheaper imports were hurting American businesses and this would probably help in saving American manufacturing jobs in the future. Let’s take a look at how people from around the world reacted to this news.

Unfortunately, starting a trade war by imposing tariffs, is exactly what started the Great Depression. Focusing on on what seems like a short term gain, actually is what is going to destroy the income of Trump’s base. The base will demand Republicans get rid of Trump, pronto.

Better to let the invisible hand of a free market force American manufacturers to become more efficient. They already have an access to market, and shipping distance advantages…

Lol oh boy and you think China will sit a d not slap back. US cars go to China and imagine if they hit back. It will damage us businesses forcing them to cut down cost by shedding it workforce. Leaving workers jobless

That Is What I Have Been Saying & It Seems Everyone Including Foolish People Who See Only One Side Of The Coins Now Agree!
Trump&America Has The Absolute Right To Decide How They Buy Or Sell!
Same Applies To Every Other Nation Including North Korea!

Ppl who say "theyll hit back", "don't do anything, it'll hurt America" are the reason we have these massive trade deficits. You're so use to being weak and pathetic that any show of strength makes you quiver. You are bad for America!!#MAGA #Trump2020 #Americafirst

Yes, he is right! I for myself made this decision too, not to buy products from China etc. I as a german citizen appreciate products made in Germany.
