Communist icon Lenin’s statue in Tripura’s Belonia town was demolished allegedly by BJP workers.
On Saturday, the BJP ousted the Communist Party government which ruled the state for 25 years. Since then several parts of Tripura are witnessing violence between the BJP and Communist Party workers. The central government is monitoring the situation, and Section 144 has already been imposed in some parts.
Wherever the Communists were in power for a long time, the party has installed statues of Marx, Mao, Lenin, and other Communist icons. Frankly speaking, they have nothing to do with India or its history. Let’s take a look at how Twitteraties reacted to the news about the demolition of Lenin’s statue.
Three questions for those outraging over Lenin's statue being pulled down by masses after the Communist regime's fall in #Tripura:
1. Have you lived under Communist rule?
2. Have you any idea how Communists rule?
3. Do you know anybody who fled Communist rule?
No?
Then shuddup. pic.twitter.com/sZYfvMhHMd— Kanchan Gupta (@KanchanGupta) March 6, 2018
Why lenins Statue was erected in india in first place? ten of thousands were killed during red terror administrated by his government…there shouldn’t be any place for mao zedong n lenin statues in India

I see more outrage here over fall of Lenin's statue than scores of political activists murdered by Communists in Tripura, Kerala or Bengal. Are you all for real? Communism is poisonous ideology. It must be buried.

Kids, we hate idols. We hate idol worshipping. We hate glorification. We demolish statues. We make fun of idol worshippers. But, we are extremely hurt when Lenin's statue is uprooted. That's how we are. pic.twitter.com/EkQK6mdbbs

Anyway, most of you outraging here did not even know 'Lenin' was the pseudonym of a mass killer and oppressor. Those who pulled down Lenin's statue did not know that either. For them, his statue was a symbol of the oppressive regime they had booted out, so Lenin had to fall.

Two identical ironies… What has Lenin and Marx got to do with Bharat? pic.twitter.com/yPoYSunvad

Most of the state governments and municipalities do not even allow citizens to use public washrooms for free due to lack of funds for maintenance. On the other hand, politicians waste taxpayers' money on Lenin and Mao statues? They hv done nothing for India #LeninStatueRow

When to choose between PM Modi and Lenin, these Communists will choose a foreigner. That shows their mentality. Is it difficult to understand their decay in India??

If the answer is 'Yes' and yet you are outraging over masses pulling down Lenin's statue in Tripura, then you are an 'useful idiot', a congenital outrager, a hypocrite, a prized ass or simply a noble soul. Have your pick.https://t.co/aD6XKhoDti

“Eyewitnesses told me that after the statue fell, its head was dismembered from the body. And then, the BJP workers played football with Lenin’s head,’’ claimed Tapas Datta, CPI(M)’s Belonia sub-division secretary. https://t.co/7F4hTzqlu5 pic.twitter.com/EWGDUZD9Yv

People who removed #Savarkar's portrait from parliament, people who removed the Savarkar memorial from Cellular Jail, heck, people who spent lakhs on removing ATAL JI'S picture from hoardings on roads he got built, are now triggered over #Lenin's statue

This is intolerance of another ideology. Another alternative that people chose for 25 long years. This is also arrogance. This toxic combination of intolerance and arrogance will hopefully result in #BJP 's total annihilation in 2019 general elections. #BJP_भगाओ_देश_बचाओ

Besides they started doing that in Russia long back https://t.co/dApezUeqlr Ukraine removed all 1320 statues of Lenin https://t.co/VyoqUwc5OA https://t.co/vy97GKPbpB

No Hindu Extreme Right Wing..

No BJP..
even then 1,320 statues of Lenin removed..And no D Raja dared to protest. https://t.co/OZig4ldwF9

I am sorry, tomorrow if BJP loses power I wouldn't endorse people pulling down statues of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya just like how some are pulling down Lenin statues today. I don't agree with both these leaders but hey we are not Iraq or Middle East
— Ninja Ka panja (@shahoud3) March 6, 2018
Poor lenin. His statues were destroyed all over the world after decimation of communists in erstwhile USSR. India is one of the last country where lenin statues were surviving in a remote corner. Now that safe sanctuary is also gone. Kerala cud b next.
— chaanakya.brf (@ChaanakyaBrf) March 6, 2018
Soon in coming decades, statues of #Nehru and #Gandhi will also go down… Whoever acted against #Hindus will be brought down, #Lenin didn't do anything to us but his stooges did.
— Satish Mylavarapu (@satsmylavarapu) March 6, 2018
They also stand high in number of political murders. Socialist economy is the failed one and the whole world knows it and buried it. The economy of Kerala depends mainly on remittance. If u kill for politics what kind of human development is that ?
— Sham (@Shamker22) March 6, 2018
Nope. Not all are doing it. I criticise both. Both these events are bad. Both communism and RSS' grassroots work have a moment under the sun.
— Nivedita Mishra (@mniveditatweets) March 6, 2018
#Communism as an ideology, is in itself so colossally flawed that it cannot be reformed. In the past, all those who have tried to reform its intrinsic faults, either have been labelled as schismatic or have been mass slaughtered for having expressed dissent. #CommunismKills

Just like in the case of Hitler who was fighting the British, Lenin was seen as anti-imperialist. This is before Indians came to know the reality of both—as mass-murderers. But comrades have fossilized minds, unable to update.

Lenin was the original dictator of modern world who inspired dictators all over the world. He was anti Democracy and propagated rule of one party. He supported violence as means to achieve power. #Lenin pic.twitter.com/iJuuA4iord
