We stand here today, witnessing the blackest times that existed in history, an example to the monstrosity of humanity.
The days of mass murder, rape, loot, and persecution seems to be the darkest chapters in history, but the reality was worse than what history has in its pocket! Japanese war crimes were the worst Imperialist – Sanctioned Human butchery and carnage! Since time, we have been coming across Nazi holocaust, the Armenian genocide, Wola massacre, Bleiberg massacre and many such horrific cases of bloodletting. But little has been written or disclosed on the details of the human rights violation that the Imperial Japanese Army executed on several countries! The world war has only rung the bell on all levels about the Nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But the actual evidence of massacres and cannibalism remains under confidentiality just by an agreement!
Japan population was increasing two-fold then it had ever been so, in that case, Japan’s as-strong-as-an-elephant attitude of fighting a war for land and resources was intact! They did not just want to be left with a wasteland! So instead of bombing and gunning people down, they resort to more brutal and extreme ways to annihilate the human population existing over those lands.
Nanking Massacre:
Nanking massacre was a chapter of mass murder and rape by the Imperial Japanese army. After the fall of Nanking, the Japanese military inflicted looting, rape and violent acts such as the brutal killing of non-combatants! This horrific episode took place during the second Sino-Japanese war. The massacre prolonged for six weeks after the fall of Nanjing (Nanking) and the estimated death toll was 1,00,000 to 3,00,000.

Brutalities inflicted by the Japanese Army:
The Imperial Japanese Army raped women and little girls with the name of ‘comfort women’ in military prostitution camps. They held Beheading competitions to mold the psyche of soldiers into making them an obedient killer! Decapitation and crucifixion were big part of their game. They even carved out big pieces of human flesh out victims bodies for just the sake of fun! The Chinese also had their eyes gouged out, their noses and ears chopped off without letting them die before setting them aflame. The whole scenario of the brutalization turned out on which soldier would inflict the most pain on victims and that soldier wins the game! There were several other brutal acts by Japanese too which the videos will describe!
Would it be a surprise if you knew that the number of Chinese killed in World War 2 is higher than the number of Jews killed in Holocaust??

The Ideological Push behind Japanese soldier’s brutal acts:
When Japan was imperialist, there whole-n-soul allegiance to the emperor shaped their morality and obedience. For the Japanese soldiers, the concept of Individual human rights did not exist. Obedience to the emperor and superior was the ultimate priority. The military obedience was accepted by the soldiers and their duty towards the nation to wipe out innocents was ‘in the name of the emperor.’ Their ideology pushed them so far as not to accept the war crimes they committed and ultimately pass on all the responsibilities to the ‘divine’ emperor. According to Article 3 of their Meiji Constitution of 1889, stated “the emperor is sacred and inviolable” and he was considered divine. As the modern era closed in, the tendency of killing in the name of emperor gained strength as it was the in the interest of the Japanese soldiers in War. The aggression and the dominating nature which the soldiers adopted for persecuting people was purely a byproduct of the Emperor Ideology or Imperialism!

“What connects two thousand years of genocide? Too much power in too few hands.”
Simon Wiesenthal
Japan’s reason behind becoming imperial was its rapidly growing population. They were witnessing world powers colonizing Asia/Africa and moving towards more dominance using Colonies and Allies. What they could do to win the war was to colonize countries and acquire more resources to gain their position in an Empire! Emperor Hirohito was under the impression that the path to global 1st ranking is through colonial acquisition, as was the case in countries with power. As for those days, Britain controlled a half of the world, through the British Isle, Egypt, Canada, Australia, and India. France was expanding its Asian influence through Indochina region. Russia was ruling from Eastern Europe to Sakhalin. Even Germany and Italy put their efforts in Asia as well. Japan felt like they needed to conquer and dominate too, to make them equal with these Empires as well. The war and the desperate display of power unmasked the real face of the ‘Nationalist’ Japan! Well, the world had to suffer for their Nationalism!
Chapters of Japanese Cannibalism and Barbarity:
Digging out history reveals even more horrific facts and happenings executed by the Japs.
The chapter of Cannibalism and Human experiments by the Japanese started during the Asia Pacific war.Japanese captured several thousands of pows from India, Australia, China, and the Philippines. These men were subjected to severe brutality and extreme torture. Indian men sent to transit camps to New guinea, New Britain, and Bougainvillea during this period were treated worse than farm animals who have doesn’t even have fundamental rights. The ghastly behavior of the Japanese soldiers did not rest after taking so many pows for slavery. They had a Special Unit 731, which spread around 6 square kilometers. With 76 different structures, dissection rooms, barns for experimental animals, laboratories, dormitories for the 20,000 staff – this unit included physicians, surgeons, nurses, chemists, biologists, microbiologists, veterinarians, entomologists, and plant pathologists. The whole n soul purpose of these Scientists was to give precious Bio-warfare findings and information to their Allied Powers. The experiments included live Dissections of human bodies without anesthesia or any drug for pain-relief. The scientist leading inhuman experiments and cruelty was Dr. Shiro Ishii. Experiments and cruelty done by Dr. Shiro Ishii were horrendous and diabolical!

Japanese medical officer, Lieut. Has-ata Tomiyasu was hanged by War crimes court for the murdering 14 Indian soldiers and practicing cannibalism. Killing and eating up of Indian soldiers happened in Wewak Area in 1944.
This was just one instance!

Not just Indians but the locals of New Guinea were also killed and eaten by the Japs. According to Toshiyuki Tanaka Japanese did not resort to cannibalism when their supplies declined, but instead, they executed the Pows in the name of meat as an exercise of Power Projection Tool. According to UK-based military historian Amarpal Sidhu, the atrocities and crimes committed against Indian Pows by Japanese during World War 2 remain the least researched and documented par
Disguised Nationalism:
Nationalism served on the golden plate delivered with ashes and coal was the way of Japan! They never thought about the humanitarian aspect of Mankind! For them, it was war. And everybody else that was not Japanese was the emperor and deserved to be treated like pigs, even if it caused a great ordeal of atrocity on their citizens! As mentioned before, Blind Nationalism ‘in the name of the emperor’ was the only way to salvation for these Japanese! The foundations of the Japanese empire, the Shinto Philosophy does not have any sacred texts or manuscripts for guidance, morally or religiously. The crux of the philosophy remains with the spirit of the nation only as a regime! And any clause or philosophy opposing that was considered anti-authoritarian. So whatever they do, right or wrong, is for the empire and the emperor’s power. And the denial of the massacre and killings were a staple behavior of Japanese Nationalism. This thing was conditioned into the very fiber of Japanese soldiers as humans!
On the other hand, India as a nation, even after thousands of years of colonization and freedom struggle, never broke their allegiance to any country nor harmed anyone in the fervor of nationalism! Whatever happened, it happened without backstabbing any of the allied relation India had. The nationalist sentiment in India is concerning the ‘Swadeshi sentiment’ and not of dominance as a world power (the underlying factor of desperate actions for power by harming innocents). It is a fact, accepted or not, that without the extensive support of the Indian army for it’s allied powers during WW2, no campaign by the allies would have been lucky! Controversies apart, they stood ground for what they believed in, fighting for themselves or fighting for the country as an ally! And Indian soldiers never butchered anyone for the sake of cannibalism, even in desperate times!
“The 20th century taught us how far unbridled evil can and will go when the world fails to confront it. It is the time that we heed the lessons of the 20th century and stand up to these murderers. It is the time that we end the genocide in the 21st century.”
